Holiday season is coming and we are already past Prime day, which happened late this year, in the middle of October.
Just as the two months before, my print on demand efforts have been largely on hold last month. This is due to the fact, that I’m still waiting patiently for my long overdue upgrade to the next tier level on Merch by Amazon.
My return rate is only recovering very slowly, that’s why this might still take some time. There is literally nothing I can do about it, besides waiting. This has killed my momentum with this business a bit, however, I’m not getting frustrated about it just yet. Realizing that the money just keeps coming in, even though I’m putting in zero work lately, makes me realize once more, why I got into this business in the first place.
Also, I’m using my time wisely to work on other income streams.
But now, let’s see the numbers.
Merch by Amazon
Overview of my sales on Merch by Amazon in October 2020
With a couple of sales less, I almost made as many royalties on MBA as in September.
In October, I reached a total of 111 sales on Merch by Amazon. This corresponds to a decrease of -13 % compared to the previous month, which reached 127 sales.
Those sales together generated roughly 423,94 € in royalties. This corresponds to a decrease of -1 % compared to the previous month, which reached 428,07 € in royalties.
I’m currently Tier 1000 with 1000 slots filled, divided into 880 products on the German marketplace, 61 on the US marketplace, and 59 on the UK marketplace.
Still hoping for my tier up Christmas present!
Spreadshirt.de

Spreadshirt.de keeps giving. Very happy to see that.
In October, I reached a total of 71 sales on Spreadshirt.de. This corresponds to a decrease of -3 % compared to the previous month, which reached 73 sales.
Those sales together generated roughly 208,85 € in royalties. This corresponds to a decrease of -13 % compared to the previous month, which reached 239,49 € in royalties.
I still have 2279 designs published on Spreadshirt.de. Nothing new, same same.
Spreadshirt.com

Another new record month for Spreadshirt.com?! Holy moly!
In October, I reached a total of 14 sales on Spreadshirt.com. This corresponds to an increase of +75 % compared to the previous month, which reached 8 sales.
Those sales together generated roughly $ 56.16 in royalties. This corresponds to an increase of +81 % compared to the previous month, which reached $ 31.05 in royalties.
I still have 360 designs published on Spreadshirt.com. Also nothing new uploaded here.
Redbubble
Chart of my sales on Redbubble in October 2020
Back to square one. Literally.
In October, I reached a total of 1 sale on Redbubble. This corresponds to a decrease of -88 % compared to the previous month, which reached 8 sales.
Those sales together generated roughly 1,81 € in royalties. This corresponds to a decrease of -79 % compared to the previous month, which reached 8,72 € in royalties.
I still have 807 designs published on Redbubble.
Shirtee
I’ve also celebrated my first sale on Shirtee last month, bringing in a whopping 7,00 € in royalties, which is very good for just one sale.
Unfortunately, the organic marketplace on Shirtee is said to be pretty much dead, therefore I’m not expecting a lot of growth to come out of this platform. But each sale is a sale, and I’ll happily take it.
Total Sales and Royalties
Adding the figures from all above platforms together amounts to a total of 198 sales. This corresponds to a decrease of -8 % compared to the previous month, which reached 216 sales.
All sales together generated roughly 693,98 € in royalties that I earned. This corresponds to a decrease of -3 % compared to the previous month, which reached 717,12 € in royalties.
Again, this is currently fully passive income for me, as I’m putting almost zero effort into this business.
I’m currently preparing everything required for me to hire an external designer, as I want to build this business into something that requires no more than one day per week of my time from next year on.
Once I got that process up and running, I will be able to spend the rest of my time building out my freelance business and content creation efforts, for which I have great ideas in my mind already.
I’m looking forward to streamline and optimize all of this over the next year already.
So much work to do!
